Chelsea Sumba

Throughout my sophomore year, marine biology gave me an opportunity to build an aquatic ecosystem model, add living organisms to it, and take care of it. My model, that was also done with a peer, is on the far left. It contained two basil plants that were just germinated. Shrimp and a fish was also added to the ecosystem. The result of the basil plants were drastic. It grew as tall as 2 feet. We also had to collect data on the water quality. This gave us a basic feel on how to carefully take care of living organisms.
