Interning with The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a non-profit environmental organization. Through TNC, I got the opportunity to work with a program called LEAF (Leaders in Environmental Action for the Future) which is an internship that helps high school students connect and have a hands-on environmental stewardship experience. I traveled to Rhode Island with my group and worked for a month in the environmental field.

My groups' mission was to sample and collect data for oyster spats. As well as collect water quality in the various water bodies.

Harbor Seals

Seals is more than an after school program. This is where science happens. I've been apart of the Harbor Seals for about two years. After an year of being apart of the program, I got assigned to be captain of physical chemistry. During my 2017-2018 school year, the program was apart of CIVITAS. Physical chemistry parameters played a role in the project so the Phys-Chem group went on sampling days where we take various data collections of water quality.

Soccer

I have been on my school's soccer team since the fall season of 2016 to the fall season of 2017. There was about 20 students on the team, and out of 20, only two were girls, including me.

Babysitting

I started babysitting in my junior year of high school. I have always babysat my little cousins, but I officially started babysitting for a family I had not known since junior year. As of today, I still babysit their seven year old daughter whom I've actually grown a close connection to. I have also babysat two younger kids.
